Accounts and credentials
Your account belongs to the market, not to your device. The same username and password work from any machine that can reach one of the three addresses. What you need to keep is the credential itself, and the two-factor setup if you use it.
What to store
- The username and password, in a password manager. Not in a note on your phone, and not in a browser password field you never export.
- The two-factor secret, if you enabled it. That is the key your authenticator app uses to generate codes. Lose it and a new phone means a locked account.
- The addresses themselves. If you lose your bookmark and this site is gone, you are back to searching for them.
If you lose access
- A forgotten password is handled by the market’s own reset flow. This site does not reset accounts and cannot see your credentials.
- A lost two-factor secret is harder. If you did not write the secret down, recovery depends on what the market offers at the time.
- Do not open a new account to keep an old balance. The balance lives on the old account. A new one starts empty.
Accounts are the part that is easiest to get wrong and hardest to undo. Store the secret, and store it somewhere that survives a phone replacement. The login page covers the day-to-day side.
